"We hired Michael to produce the music for SPAZ 2. We had no real idea what we wanted, but Michael helped us find a fitting score by creating midi prototypes of every song before they went into full production. What we ended up with sounds pretty triple A to me 10/10!".

Richard Cliff, Co-Creator - Space Pirates and Zombies 2

ABOUT

Michael William Pflug is a music composer, sound designer, songwriter and trumpeter with nearly two decades of experience as a creative audio professional.  He has spent the last year as the Audio Director for Calcatz Studios, where he worked on the highly anticipated 2025 game release, "Undying Flower", showcasing the vocal and guitar talents of artists Stef Amadeus and Eien Nagi. Michael's career includes collaborations with prominent clients such as Lazarus Filmworks, Dark Wolf Pictures, Calcatz, Nightfire Films, Minmax Games, ReelNRG, and IndiEye Productions, where he has contributed to a wide range of projects across film, video games, trailers, and commercials.

Michael made his entrance into the industry with his first major feature film, "Exposed", which garnered multiple "Best Feature Film" awards during its festival run.  His writing was further recognized when he won the award for "Best Score" for the film “Dreams of the Last Butterflies” at Vision Festival in New York City.  His first theatrical release, “God, Where Are You?” was followed by more work with Lazarus Filmworks on “Grace of the Father” and other successful film and game projects.  Most recently, he completed a classic Hollywood orchestral score for the Star Wars fan film "Star Wars - The New Academy", produced by the rising Atlanta-based writer, director, and actor Alexander Christopher Jones.

Michael also has a profound passion for video games.  His journey into game composition began with the highly successful release of "Space Pirates and Zombies 2" by MinMax Games, a collaboration that laid the foundation for a series of subsequent projects.  Among these were "No Creeps Were Harmed: TD", where he designed a jam-house live orchestral/hybrid soundtrack, and "Clanfolk", a medieval Scottish colony SIM which he utilized an orchestral/live/synth soundscape featuring renowned Atlanta clarinetist John Warren and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra flautist Ryan Clever.  Additionally, he demonstrated his versatility on "Golftopia", composing a dynamic and abstract multi-genre collection of live/electronic/hybrid music.

Michael is also a composer and arranger of wind ensemble and marching band repertoire, with his works having been premiered by the United States Army's "Pershing's Own", alongside compositions by iconic figures such as John Williams, Michael Kamen, and Leonard Bernstein.  He has also toured the world performing on cruise-ships and holds 3 Drum Corps International world championship titles with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Michael currently resides in the Atlanta, GA metropolitan area.
